Sergio Garcia was all smiles after his Masters win, and would certainly not be complaining about the length of his fiancée Angela Akins’ skirt as she offered him a congratulatory embrace.

That, however, did not stop golf commentator Peter Alliss from casting a snide remark in her direction with regards to the garment when she appeared on the screen, as he said in a muffled voice: “she’s got the shortest skirt on the campus.”

Alliss confirmed that he thought he was off air when he made the comment, but agreed that it was “inappropriate.”

Viewers who were tuned into the event that saw Garcia claim his first ever major by pipping Brit rival Justin Rose to the trophy, caught the off-hand comment and that triggered calls for Alliss’ immediate removal with some claiming that the commentator “ruined Garcia’s finest moment (with the) disgraceful comment
